Our Mission

YORS is dedicated to expanding access to yoga and affirming its value as a meaningful and impactful wellness practice. Grounded in diversity and inclusion, our mission is to make yoga accessible to individuals facing barriers to sustain a consistent fitness practice such as cost, time, injury, caregiving, trauma, or access to welcoming supportive spaces.

Through every practice, we cultivate self-empowered wellness, mindfulness, and a positive connection to the world, uplifting the lives, communities, and environments we are honored to serve.

Our Philosophy

YORS has thoughtfully refined basic vinyasa yoga to allow focus on the synergy between three components: mind, body, and emotion; referred to as the
“YORS Wellness Trinity”

MIND

YORS invites participants to be fully present by acknowledging the potential impact of each movement, the importance of intention, and the power of mindfulness

BODY

YORS practices vinyasa yoga where breath is coordinated with movement. Vinyasa yoga is a great cardio workout that can increase muscle strength, balance, posture, and flexibility as well as improve sleep, boost mood, reduce stress, promote centering, breathing, and meditation techniques… the potential benefits are endless!

EMOTION

YORS is an opportunity to feel better about yourself and your community by acknowledging and appreciating the time, space, and effort it takes to have a positive shared experience. Whether online or in person, each YORS practice is intended to be an invaluable reminder you are not alone and that someone cares enough to invest in your well-being.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

Meet the Founder

Chimesa Medina

For over 20 years, yoga has been a consistent, viable
fitness practice of choice for me, regardless of which state I lived in, or which state in I was in.

Through physical therapy for broken bones and bodily injury, psychological therapy following trauma, and emotional and spiritual challenges such as grief or career disruption, yoga enabled me to actively contribute to my own well-being rather than depending entirely on external resources.

While I believe in first seeking professional medical care for matters of well-being and remain deeply grateful for the support and resources I have received, the consistent practice of yoga has given me the confidence and tools to keep getting stronger on my own long after medications, treatments, and therapies have run their course.
